AGM (Minutes) Sunday 19th October. 2014

The meeting was held at the Fromebridge Mill, Whitminster, Gloucestershire

The meeting was opened by the Club Secretary Martin Turner at 2.00pm.

Presentation to Wendy Beamont – founder member of CCCC

Martin Turner and Bob Hallam made a special presentation to Wendy Beamont on behalf of the club in recognition of the fact she is our founding member and for all the hard work put in over the last 3 years.  The club was conceived during the 2011 Centenary Cruise and now has over 50 members. The future aims for the club are to have a club house and mooring on the Stroudwater Canal.  Wendy is to have the Honorary title of “The Founding Member” and membership for life.

2: Election of Club Officers

New and returning officers have been elected and approved on-line are as follows:

3: Approval of Reports

All reports were approved by member present

4: AWCC

Wendy Beamont to remain as our club representative on AWCC, approved Bob Hallam, seconded Bruce Paul.

5: Sponsored charity

It was discussed that the CCCC should have a sponsored charity, all members present agreed that this was a good thing for our club to consider.  Martin Turner and Jan Thomas put forward a presentation about boating for the disabled on the Cotswold Canals, this will be in collaboration with “Sailing 4 the disabled”   who are based at Gloucester. This charity would not only benefit from any donation the club may make but from the help and expertise that our members can offer. There is to be an open day on 29th October and all are welcome, please contact Jan or Martin for details. All members present approved this to be the club charity.

6: Meeting Venue Locations

Each of the members present was invited to put forward their view on where we should hold club meetings; opinions were varied and it was agreed that the next meeting to be held by the club in the Spring will be held outside of the Cotswold area in the midlands. The venue and date to be decided by the committee.

Any Other Business

Martin Turner gave a brief presentation on the Hugh Conway Jones – IWA award for services.

Jan Thomas proposed the idea of club fliers which received members approval.

Wendy Beamont provided information in connection with the 6kg Calor Lite Cylinder bottle recall, any 6KG Calor Lite cylinders manufactured in 2008, 2009, 2010 or 2011 must be returned  to retail outlets for exchange.
