Shropshire Union Canal – Visitor Moorings

This information may be of benefit to those members travelling on the Shroppie en-route to the IWA Campaign Festival at Chester this year (2014) or visiting the area at other times.

Thanks to the continuous efforts of the Shropshire Union Canal Society, there are numerous recognised visitor moorings on the Shroppie, the Llangollen and the Montgomery canals, all with mooring rings set at thoughtful and workable distances. The towpath is generally very well kept at these locations and in many places there are picnic tables also provided by the society. Their efforts are very much appreciated by all boaters who travel on these waters and our congratulations and thanks go to all the members of the SUCS.
